The year 2024 was challenging for the solar industry. Market consolidation, which began in 2023, continued. Markets worldwide were shaped by:
- Rising interest rates in some financial markets
- Uncertain regulations and subsidy conditions
- Trade conflicts and wars
- Overcapacity among manufacturers, distributors and installers
“We expect the market environment to remain tense in 2025,” says Jan Brunner, Chief Sales Officer at Krannich Solar. “However, we are well-prepared: Krannich has been in the industry for 30 years. Market fluctuations don’t catch us off guard.”
Positive Market Trends
Despite challenging conditions in some regions, the global industry achieved record growth. It added nearly 600 gigawatts of new capacity, which is more than 1.5 times the output of all active nuclear power plants worldwide.
"The share of renewable energies will continue to grow globally. We see catch-up potential in many regions of the world and, at the same time, expect stabilization and partial recovery of PV markets in Europe. This creates growth opportunities for us," says Jens Ullrich, Chief Revenue Officer at Krannich Solar.
As the share of photovoltaics in the energy mix increases, structural challenges such as grid stability emerge. Storage solutions for households and especially for commercial customers play a vital role in addressing these challenges while creating attractive business opportunities.
“The prices for commercial storage solutions have decreased over the past year and are expected to drop further,” says Jan Brunner. Jens Ullrich adds: “This trend is making such projects profitable in more and more countries. Other factors include rising electricity prices and the ability for operators to participate in the electricity market.”
30 Years of Krannich
“When it comes to planning large-scale installations and assembling the necessary components, manufacturers, installers, and customers often turn to our expertise,” says Jan Brunner. Krannich Solar draws on a wealth of experience, dating back to its founding in 1995 by the owner Kurt Krannich.
“2025 will be a particularly special year for Krannich Solar as we celebrate our 30th anniversary. Our customers can look forward to some exciting highlights,” Brunner adds.
Investment in a new webshop
Krannich Solar remains committed to being a reliable and trusted partner for its customers. “For us, this means delivering excellent customer service and top-notch delivery quality,” says Brunner.
The company is also advancing its digitalization strategy, which began several years ago, by investing in a new online shop set to launch in fall 2025.
Krannich Solar’s dedication to reliability was recently validated with the Creditreform creditworthiness certificate, CrefoZert. Following a thorough examination of creditworthiness, financial statements, and business planning, the company was awarded the prestigious "excellent credit rating" seal.
