Krannich Solar is opening two new branches, thereby expanding its global business further. After recently opening branches in America and Asia, the focus is now on the Balkans. There, Krannich has opened its 30th branch in Croatia, and the 31st in Slovenia.
"Croatia is an exciting market for Krannich," says Mateo Markoc, who has set up the new branch and also serves customers in Serbia as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina with his team. "The PV market is still manageable, but we see great potential. The main power suppliers are old hydroelectric power plants. However, hydro power cannot cover the rising demand. On average, we have 2,600 hours of sunshine a year – perfect for a strong expansion of solar energy in the coming years."
Tomaž Repas, responsible for Slovenia, is equally optimistic: "Slovenia has set itself ambitious goals, to phase out coal energy by 2033 and expand renewables. To achieve this, the government is also relying on support programs, for example for PV roof systems with storage and heat pumps."
Both countries are connected to Krannich Solar's European webshop, so customers there can access the entire portfolio and obtain everything they need for PV installations, from mounting systems to modules to inverters, storage and charging stations, through Krannich.
"As wholesalers, we play an important role in the energy transition. We supply installers, buffer any supply difficulties or excess supply. We offer advice, support and expertise. We want to fulfill this role even better worldwide. The two new branches are an important step, not only for the two exciting markets, but for the whole Balkan region," says Jan Brunner, CSO of Krannich Solar.
