What will you do
The primary function of the Staff Accountant position will be to perform monthly and annual reconciliations. This position requires professional accounting work involving the independent application of a variety of accounting concepts, principles, and techniques to several accounting funcstions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains and reconciles accounts in accordance with GAAP or compliance with applicable legal requirements
- Assists in analysis and documentation of internal accounting and administrative controls and procedures
- Assist in the tracking of assets
- Monitor depreciation of fixed assets
- Assist with special projects as assigned
- Staff accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded
- Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger
- Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance
- Prepare and file tax returns
- Organize and update financial records
- Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
- Perform monthly bank settlements
- Prepare documentation for external auditors
